I am puzzled every time I ask the question, “Why are the rich always getting richer and the poor, poorer?” For all my life I see the rich, exploiting the poor by gaining their wealth and other means of comfort, leaving them vulnerable to the harsh elements of life. The poor has no choice as they see this as an avenue of survival, the only way to gain a dollar. This can be traced back to the ancient days and at times it seems as this cycle is unbreakable. Ironically, some of the poor or less fortunate idolize and or submerge most, if not all of their attention in the values, norms and ways of life of the rich, rather than focusing on themselves, their interest and their purpose in life; and the rich enjoys this.
It is time to break the cycle. It is high time that the less fortunate/the poor take a page out of the rich man’s book. Save from the scraps earned, be innovative and rise above the challenges. Stop submerging in other people’s business, look about your own interest. It is easy to say and hard to do but if you put it into daily practice, you will be successful. Look at Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Abraham Lincoln, and Sir Winston Churchill among other successful people in the society. They started out poor or even worst, and look where they are now. Am just saying people, rise above your challenges, and find creative, innovative and alternative means of being successful. Find positive role modules and make a change. The ball is in your court, play well and break the cycle.
